Another turn of the wheel, a new year is upon us and, like many, I am thinking about new resolutions. What would I like to change? What would I like to accomplish? And most importantly, what would I like to release, let go.
My pondering has led me to ask myself,w hy I need to wait until January 1 to decide to make changes? A new year can start at any moment. It makes no difference to me if I create a new resolution on April 17, or September 22. It starts when I say, “Okay”.
Since New Year’s Day is the traditional day to start fresh, then I do think we should go for it. Give it our best shot to create new, healthy habits, and hope we have the perseverance to stick with it and make the changes.
I’ve decided to try and incorporate more organic foods into my diet. It’s not always easy, as my grocery budget is rather small, and organic, healthy food is expensive. But, where there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m also trying to get back to drinking more water throughout my day. A new water bottle I received as a Christmas gift should help me. I’m also going to try and incorporate more “me” time into my life. As a healer I give and give and give to others and not always enough to myself. I think I can change in that regard.
For now, I’m leaving my resolutions at that. Too many on the list can become unattainable for me, too overwhelming. Still and all, I think it’s a good start, and whenever I decide throughout this year, I will add to the list or start fresh. A new year is what we create within ourselves. Think about how exciting that can be.
Happy New Year!
