The School of Natural Healing: Family Herbalist Course
The School of Natural Healing, based in Springville, Utah, is the oldest herbal school in the country. Founded by Dr. John R. Chrostopher in 1953, this school provides an extensive herbal program allowing students to attain different levels of certification from Family Herbalist to Master Herbalist.
As a student in the Master Herbalist program with the school, I took the Family Herbalist course as a prerequisite. After finishing it, I can honestly say this is one of the best herbal courses to be found. And given that I have been studying herbs for over 30 years, I do not say that lightly!
The easy to understand format is clear and concise, yet extensively detailed to provide an herbal education that one can use to bring natural health into their life as well as their family’s.
A student is given 3 months to work through the course, which I found to be more than enough time to finish. The school does send monthly email reminders about the course completion, and is also willing to allow extensions of time, if needed. Also, as a student you receive discounts on learning products, if you need to order them, as well as on herbal products.
The cost of the correspondence course through the mail is $495. The online course is $295, a $200 savings! However, if you sign up through the link on the left sidebar of this site, you can receive another $100 discount and pay only $195.
